In order to protect your concrete surfaces, reduce the risk of wear and improve their general appearance, having an epoxy coating (or polyaspartic coating) applied to your paving is an excellent solution.
Containing solid materials (without any VOC) and allowing an interior application without toxic odors, these types of coating make your paving stone solid resistant to bacteria and moisture. It is also easy to maintain.
PROPER PREPARATION OF THE SURFACE TO BE TREATED ENSURES OPTIMAL ADHESION
The first step in preparing the epoxy coating is to grind the surface to be treated with diamonds or, alternatively, to clean with acid. Then the specialists take care to remove all the dust by sucking up the surface – this second step is crucial because the least residue will have a negative impact on the product’s adhesion.
For the application, the products (resin and hardener) are poured into ribbons on the surface, then a squeegee is used to distribute them uniformly. Finally, we use a paint roller to give a smooth and uniform appearance at work!
HOW EPOXY COATING IS APPLIED TO YOUR CONCRETE SURFACES?
As mentioned above, the resin and hardener mixture is first poured into strips, then spread over the surface with a squeegee – everything must be uniform and care must be taken to leave extras for cutting. After spreading the product well with the squeegee, use a paint roller to even everything out.
These steps are repeated for all layers to be made. Once the surface is dry, sweep and vacuum the floor to remove any excess, then apply a clear top coat for maximum protection!
